Over the past 18 months, Gloucestershire Market Towns Forum has published a report every six months, examining in detail the impact of the recession on the high streets of its 16 member communities. The reports also highlight the towns' initiatives to boost trade and help their local businesses on the road to economic recovery.
The
first report was published in June
2009 - this was updated in October
2009, and most recently in July
2010. The Forum also commissioned research
into the impact the financial climate was having on
the rural tourism industry in July last year.
